When I cogitate about our own self being, it jolts me to ask endless questions about self respect and ego. What does it really mean? Ego – is it an inflated state of mind or something else! In my opinion, self respect doesn’t mean ego; ego puts itself in the first and others in the second; it narrows down your perception of being important, it reduces the other to the level of lesser human. Our ego makes us feel important at others cost; it makes our life a parasite. Ego compares and feels haughty; it hurts others and puffs up. Ego has endless desires and knows cunning ways to fulfill them. Ego is causative. Ego is a shadow, under which grows nothing: as the light of the self doesn’t dawn here
Self respect is a state of self awareness; it is the true realization of self. Self respect is without cause, no other is required to make you feel important and worth, it is valuing and admiring the essence that pervades you and all. Self respect doesn’t live off others; rather it’s a sign of the growth of the self of the person, of the individuality. And individuality does not mean to be different, but to be unique and yet similar. Self respect is the disappearance of “ I AM”. It is seeing and realizing your vastness and oneness with all. Self respect strengthens and awakens others to be the same: intelligent as others, important as others, and beautiful as others.
See the sameness and oneness of your interests, and of your being.
Happy living…
